| ‘Rajouri to be covered under village electrification programme’ | | Peer Hussain announces new building for Darhal hospital | | JAMMU, NOV 19 In view of hilly topography and vastness of border district of Rajouri the government has decided to cover it under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna (RGGVY) for speedy electrification of un-electrified villages and hamlets. Under the scheme all the left over areas and un-electrified villages and hamlets of the district would be extended electricity within two years. This was disclosed by Minister of State for Health and Power Mr. Peer Mohd. Hussain in a review meeting of PDD department at Rajouri the other day. The meeting was informed that the department has succeeded in collecting tariff revenue to the tune of Rs.7.42 crore in the district including Rs.3.67 crore in cash upto ending October, out of the set target of Rs.14.30 crore for the current fiscal. Addressing the meeting the Minister directed for maintaining transparent record both for revenue realization and incurring of expenditure under different heads. He called for synergizing efforts among various engineering cadres for ensuring 100 per cent tariff collection by the end of financial year. Earlier during inspection of Sub-District hospital Darhal Mr. Hussain announced construction of new building for the hospital and directed district administration to identify and acquire suitable land for the purpose within a month. He also inaugurated free eye camp organized by the Health Department in the premises of the hospital. Later the Minister inspected under construction 6.3 MVA receiving station at Phall in Sunderbani. He was informed that the project has been taken up at a cost of Rs.90 lakh under APDRP which on completion would cater to power needs of about 8000 people living in Pali, Kalakolora, Gandeh, Bharore, Meeli, Sariala, Sanser, Malla, Pukhri and Nambla village of Sunderbani area. |
