Justice Sharma Commission likely to complete hearing by May end | Desecrating the dead | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 7: Justice OP Sharma Commission of Enquiry today held its sitting here at its Manda Office, Jammu for hearing the arguments. The Commission was constituted to finding facts related to the circumstances leading to the death of Sh. Kuldeep Verma and desecration of his dead body by the J&K Police at Bishnah during the Shri Amarnath Shrine land row agitation in 2008 spearheaded by Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti (SAYSS). Proceeding began in the morning with arguments by Romesh Arora which remained inconclusive. Sangarsh Samiti lawyers were directed by Justice Sharma today to conclude their argument on May 10, 2011. Sangarsh Samiti was represented by Romesh Arora, Chander Mohan Sharma, Sunil Malhotra, Rajesh Thapa and Rattan Singh Gill Advocates while senior advocate Madan Baru assisted the Commission. Widow of late Kuldeep Verma, Smt Shipi Verma alongwith her relatives were also present during the proceedings. Dy SP ML Kaith and retired Dy SP Swantantra Arora were directed to complete their arguments within this week. Similarly, Komal Mohan Gupta Advocate from Delhi who represented SP Shailender Singh has been asked to complete his arguments on May 21 and 22 while Dr. Susheel Gupta representing the SSP Alok Kumar has been asked to present his version on 16th May 2011. Commission is likely to complete hearing within this month.
