Ortho prosthetic aid distribution camp held

DODA, MAY 07- Rotary Club Udhampur and Rotary Club Nahan Sirmour Hills in collaboration with District Social Welfare Department Doda and District Disability Rehabilitation Centre Doda (DDRC) organized a one day Ortho Prosthetic Aid/ Appliance distribution camp here at local Dakbanglow.
District Development Commissioner Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan , who was chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the camp.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr A.R Natnoo, Chairman of the Medical Mission Dr. S.K Sablok, Secretary General Rotary Hospital Rtn Veerinder Singh, President Handicapped Association Doda Dr. M.I Zargar, Superintendent District Hospital Doda Dr. Fareed Ahmed Batt , Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Doda Subash Kotwal, besides Medical team from Ortho Prosthetic Care & Rehabilitation, New Delhi (OPCAR) and a number of physically challenged persons of the district also participated in the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Medical Mission Dr. S.K Sablok presented a brief resume of the achievements made by the Rotary Club Udhampur and Rotary Club Nahan Sirmour in the Jammu and Kashmir State.
He said that a number of Mobile eye camps, free Medical camps and ortho prosthetic aids distribution camps have been organized by the NGO in various parts of the state. He said that during this camp 33 Wheel Chairs, 56 Crutches and 57 Hearing aids will be provided to the Handicapped people of the District. He thanked District Administration Doda, Social Welfare Department Doda and Health Department Doda for the close coordination and keen interest in making the camp successful. He also said that similar camps will be organized in future also and efforts are being made to start a rehabilitation centre at the premises of Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur.
DDC Doda, Mr Farooq Ahmed Khan, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the commitment and the work done by the Rotary Club Udhampur , Rotary Club Nahan Sirmour Hills and Ortho Prosthetic Care & Rehabilitation Centre New Delhi in the state for the benefit and rehabilitation of the physically challenged persons. He asked the NGOs to expand their activities so that the ortho prosthetic aids/ appliances should reach the needy persons in the District. He said that the existence of a healthy and prosperous society is not possible without the rehabilitation and welfare of the physically challenged persons. He called for working in tandem for achieving hundred percent success in the rehabilitation and well being of the physically challenged..
Later, the Ortho Prosthetic Aids/ Appliances were distributed among the disables by the DDC Doda.
It was revealed that Dr. C.L Sharma, General Surgeon Dr.S.K Sablok, Mr. Sunil Jain, Mr. Rakesh, Mr. Durgesh CPO Mr. Shyam Lal, Rtn Sh. Puran Sharma, Rtn Sh. Pritam Kotwal, Rtn Sh. Veer Singh volunteered their services while working with OPCAR and Rortary Club of Nahan Sirmour Hills.
