| Udhampur Cricket: Narrow win for United Club | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, May 07: United Cricket Club, Udhampur snatched a narrow win over Hapshi Cricket Club in the 1st Udhampur League T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Royal Cricket Club at Sports Stadium, here today.
Put into bat, Hapshi scored 138 for seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs with Rishab contributing highest 27 runs and Rahul 24 runs to the total. Anjam and Naresh took two wickets each for United Club.
In reply, the duo of Pranav and Naresh held their nerves in the crunch situation by scoring the winning runs on the pen-ultimate ball when United Cricket Club needed six runs in the last over with two wickets in hand. Rajinder bowled the last over for Hapshi Club and failed to stop United from scripting a thrilling victory. Tanveer, Pranav and Naresh contributed 23, 22 and 16 runs for United Cricket Club respectively. Sonu took three wickets for Hapshi Club while Vishal bagged two.
In another match, Jupiter Cricket Club defeated Kallar Cricket Club. After winning the toss and batting first, Jupiter Club scored a decent total of 173 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Sachin scored highest 68 runs in 48 balls while Sandeep contributed 38 in 36 balls. For Kallar Club, Sahil took two wickets while Vijay and Bittu claimed one wicket each.
Kallar Cricket Club, in reply, managed to score 113 losing all their wickets in 19.5 overs with Sahil contributing highest 30 runs and Ashok chipping in with 19 runs. Sanjeev was the pick of the bowlers for Jupiter Club, scalping 3 important wickets while Deepu bagged two wickets. Sachin was declared man of the match for his magnificent knock.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of Deepak Anand, Vikram Jamwal, Amit Sharma and Amit Tadyal.
