Shrine Board Safailaramcharis threaten stir, seek fulfilment of demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 7: Shrine Board Safai Karamchari Union has urged the government to ensure fulfilment of their long pending demands at the earliest which have been ignored and overlooked by concerned authorities on one or the other pretext. In the press conference the speakers lay thrust on the demand for reinstatment of the four employees who were leaders of the union and dismissed in the year 2003 .They include Ghulam Ali ,President, Raj Kumar senior vice President, latief Vice President and Javed Chief Organisor. The Union leaders said after retirement no gratuity and pension benefits are being given to the employees. They said Contractual system should be abolished and workers who are serving in contractual system should be regularized. They also demanded time bound promotions at par with state/ central government Employees, salaries of the employee’s be fixed at par with state/central Government employees with immediate effect. The Union leaders also underlined the need for a time bound policy for the transfers.Safai Karamchari Union also demanded that there should be some concrete meetings with authorities to solve above long pending just demands. They observed that , shrine being a sacred and holy place, strike would affect the pilgrimage badly.Therefore it was for the authorities to avoid such circumsatnces and accept the genuine and just demands of the safai Karmcharies or else they shall be forced to go for the indefinite strike.
