| It is the collective victory of Kashmiris (read separatists, antinational & anti Jammu elements in Kashmir). It is the defeat of Dogras and Jammuites belonging to all the communities and sub reigns or districts of Jammu. One more insert hurled on Dogras by Kashmiri politicians, with the state and central governments once more surrendering before the blackmail of secessionists and religious fundamentalists in Kashmir. In the annals of insults and humiliations hurled on the people of Jammu reign by the Kashmir centric ruling dispensations in the state and center, one more black chapter has been written.
The revocation of the order issued by the state revenue department , providing for issuing of Dogra certificate to those who want to apply for jobs in the central Para- military forces, entitling them to relaxation of 6 cms in height and so in chest measurement, the concession which is already available to many racial and ethnic groups, including Ladakhis and Kashmiris, may serve as a last straw on the camel’s back , Dogras, which means all the inhabitants of Jammu reign, irrespective of their cast, sub-region and language, to bear the hegemony of Kashmiri imperialists, who want to treat Jammu as its colony and it’s people their captured slaves.
Of course, their was nothing substantial in the government order of issuing Dogras certificates to the desirous people of Jammu and no material loss is going to them with the revocation of the order. But the way in which the separatists, Islamic fundamentalists and the communal elements in Kashmir raised hue and cry over the issue, threatening to put the valley and Muslim majority on fire, if the order is not revoked and the way in which the state and central govt. have made an abject surrendered before the black mail, has definitely gone to hurt the psyche of the people of Jammu. It has once again brought to focus the reality that so long as Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, the three distinct regions of the state continue to be bound together, in an artificial unity, Jammu and Ladakh regions shall have to play the second fiddle and meted out step motherly treatment. Their interest, aspirations and sentiments will continue to be sacrificed at the altar of appeasement of anti national elements and religious fundamentalists of Kashmir.
Kashmiri politician’s of all hue and colour ganged up to force fully oppose a totally harmless move to give common identity who all the people of Jammu, irrespective of their religion, socio-culture and ethnic origin and sub-region they belong to. As it cuts at the roots of their nefarious goal to divide Jammu on religious lines, ultimately dismembering the Muslim majority areas of the region, to fulfill the dream of their late leader Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah to carve out greater Kashmir i.e. Kashmir valley and Muslim majority areas of Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban and Kishtwar districts of Jammu. The separatists belonging to hard liner and Islamic fundamentalists Sayyed Geelani Group, so called moderate hurriyate Conference led by Maulvi Umar Farooq, and the fence sitters between the separatists and the main stream politicians of the opposition P.D.P and the ruling NC were on the same platform in opposing the move, all raising the wolf cry of a conspiracy to divide Jammu and Kashmir on communal lines and converting the Muslim majority character of J&k into a minority. A foolish and highly unconvincing plea.
. Although some what late, yet not belated, the to main Jammu based political parties, the BJP and the JKNPP have started lodging protest and holding demonstrations against the abject surrender by the J&K govt. and the Centre before the blackmail of anti national elements and religious fanatics in Kashmir, revoke the order to issue Dogra certificates to al those people from Jammu reign who intended to apply for jobs in the Centre para –military forces. Some small political groups and socio-cultural organizations, however, had taken the lead in lodging protests over this onslaught on the honour of Dogras, read Jammuites as a whole.
If a strong and joint agitation against the move to revoke the order was launched about a month earlier, when the separatists and the Kashmir centric political groups had raised who and cry against the innocuous govt. order for issuing Dogra certificate and their were strong apprehensions of the govt. surrendering before the anti Jammu and antinational forces, the govt. would have been forced to think hundred times before taking out and out anti Jammu decision.
The BJP which was embroiled in its own crises in wake of cross voting by its seven MLAs in the elections to the state legislative council , their subsequent suspension for the party and show cause serve to them and their revolt against the party decision to identify them as the black sheep , kept their opposition confined to issue press statement , condemning the govt. action The issue provides a golden opportunity to the battered BJP in Jammu to retrieve its lost ground and eroded credibility among the people . The issue is highly motive, causing deep hurt to the sentiments and psyche of Jammu people
However , sporadic protest demonstrations , separately by different political groups and other bodies in Jammu is doubtful to have the desired result to force the authorities to reconsidered this act of surrendered and restore the dignity of Jammu people . however , as things stand today , the BJP on its own cannot win the battle against this collective onslaught against jammuites by the Kashmiri politicians , cutting across line of demarcation a between the separatists and the so called main stream political groups . Hence there is a dire need for giving united fight to the anti Jammu forces, by farming a common platform
An agitation of the level and on the lines of the one fought by Jammu people into 2008 over Amarnath Nath Yatra row, is the lead of the hour. That agitation had the support and active participation of all the organizations, groups and individuals in Jammu, although it was being guided and controlled behind curtain by the RSS. The betrayal by the top leader of the agitation later, succumbing to the temptation and also lack of follow action by the Amarnath Yatra Sangarash Samiti to get the agreement reached with the governor’s administration implemented in toto , has shakened the faith of people in the leadership that had emerged al that time
Never had they less in new leadership can emerged at this critical juncture and a person with aclean slate could be projected as the leader. Happily the BJP in the recent has got a new phase, who though noviest in the political field, but has the clean image and is jenerally believed to be not vulnerable to any temptation of self aggrandizement , in whom the people at large can put their faith .Let Dr. Jatinder Singh emerged as a new leader of the movement against anti Jammu forces and for restoration of the owner of Jammuites.
