Will BJP or Panthers Party succeed in filling political vacuum created by congress blunder?

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 7: Will the Panthers Party be able to fill the political vacuum created by the cross voting episode that rattled the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir ? Will it succeed in cashing on the congress blunder when it sided with the National Conference on the issue of the revocation of the Dogra certificate procedure ?Will the BJP,that has suffered bruises following the cross voting episode during the recent Legislative Council election,be able to regain its lost ground by launching agitation against the Congress on the revocation of the Dogra certificate order ?
These questions have assumed significance after the Panthers Party and the BJP embarked on a path of confrontation with the ruling coalition on the revocation of Dogra certificate order. The leadership of the two Jammu centric parties should not have announced the programme on protest rallies and dharnas after the Union Home Ministry issued an order under which all sections of people belonging to the Jammu region were entitled to chest and height relaxation while applying for jobs in the Armed forces and the paramilitary forces. The leaders of these two political parties feel peeved, hurt and insulted because they believe that the ruling coalition had succumbed to the pressure mounted by the Kashmiri separatists.
Leaders of the BJP and the Panthers Party deliberately blame the Congress and the NC for having agreed to revoke the Dogra certificate order only to appease the separatists, especially Syed Ali Shah Geelani. They believe that their campaign on Congress surrender before Geelani was bound to cause enormous erosion in the Congress strength in the Jammu region.
Political analysts are of the opinion that the BJP would have been a major gainer than the Panthers Party of the Congress blunder had not the BJP suffered a loss of face when its MLAs indulged in cross voting. For the Jammuites BJP MLAs voting in favour of the ruling alliance candidates in the Legislative Council election is as painful as applying salt to one's wounds.
This way the Panthers Party can cause significant erosion in the Congress strength provided it is able to give teeth to its ongoing campaign against revocation of order on issuance of Dogra certificate. But it depends on the priorities of people in the Jammu region because it is yet to be seen whether the Jammuites have forgotten and forgiven the Panthers Party for having supported the PDP candidates in the Council election.
Reports reveal that since the PDP is no longer as untouchable in the Jammu region as it was in 2008 when it campaigned in favour of revocation of the order under which land was diverted to the Amarnath Shrine Board for building facilities for the pilgrims.Hence he Panthers Party has a chance to make inroads in the pro-Congress areas.
It has one lacuna. Its bases were limited when compared to the BJP.But the Panthers Party leadership has started carving out bases in several areas in the Jammu region. There is one drawback in the race between the BJP and the Panthers Party trying to sideline the Congress. The two Jammu centric political parties have not been able to play complimentary and supplementary role.
Once the BJP and the Panthers Party forge an unwritten alliance or a secret understanding the alliance could cause a major problem not only for the Congress but for the National Conference also. The leaders of the two organisations need to learn from the PDP and the NC. Despite being main political rivals the two have been playing a role that is complimentary or supplemetary, though unwittingly,to each other.
The PDP and the NC are pleading the case of Kashmir and the Kashmiris even as political foes. The BJP and the Panthers Party need to imitate the PDP and the NC in their game of pleading the case of Jammu and the Jammuites.
