| Tax lawyers demand extension in tax- remission claims date | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | JULY 29
An extraordinary meeting of office bearers of the Tax Bar Association, Jammu was held in the Bar Room of Excise 7 Taxation Complex, Railhead, Jammu under the chairmanship of its President- Rattan Lal Gupta, advocate, today. The meeting expressed grave concern over the difficulties being faced by the Industrial fraternity in the state due to the Hyper Technical conditions of SRO 91 dated 16.3.2006 read with SRO 1176 dated 31.5.2006 including the non- availability of Employment Certificate required by the Industrialists from the Industrial Department. The Industrialists shall have to submit their tax remission claim for the year 2006-2007 up to 31st of July, 2006, which is not possible for them to do so in the present circumstances. The Tax Bar Association impressed upon the state Government especially the Hon’ble Finance Minister to personally intervene and extended the last date for filling tax remission claims of Industries up to ending September, 2006. The Association had already requested the Sales Tax authorities in this regard. The Association hoped that Hon’bl Finance Minister will understand the gravity of the situation pass on directions for extending the last date for filling tax remission claims of Industries up to ending September, 2006. The meeting was attended by Kamal Gupta Vice President, Rajesh Modi, General Secretary, Sourav Mahajan, Jt. Secretary, Dheeraj Bhasin Treasurer and others.
