BJP high command to announce 'action' against MLAs individually......? | Conduct of few MLAs registered as 'anti party activity' | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 7: With replies of the 7 suspended MLAs of BJP having been sent to the Disciplinary Action committee and other concerned quarters, immediate action in whatsoever form is unlikely from high command. The latter instead of announcing a cumulative 'penultimate action' may do so individually, implying one by one each MLA, after thoroughly scrutinising and scanning the details of the reply each has given. Sources said the high command of BJP is thinking on lines of 'going steady' in the matter of 'tough action' envisaged earlier , though that is almost final but the grind is unlikely to fall on all the 7 MLAs simultaneously. Sources further said expulsion from the party is almost a decided punishment as the only alternative left for the party to show some action against the MLAs identified by them as guilty of having indulged in cross voting. However, it may come in stages, as a political strategy. Sources also said the high command is though outwardly maintaining silence, but it is keenly watching every development and reaction from every quarter along with the activities MLAs are indulging in. It has also taken note of MLAs taking different recourse as far as their response to show cause notices are concerned, some of them following it together as in case of Baldev Raj Sharma and Lal Chand choosing to go to media first, one MLA seeking intervention of court and one more member in this camp, the senior most leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta choosing to write a letter first instead of replying directly and simultaneously circulating it to media etc etc. The high command even immediately requisitioned from the state leadership the copy of the court order which came two days back upon filing application by BB Bodhi, one of the 7 MLAs, so as to study it before it reaches them through proper channel. In this order the high command has been asked to file objections by May 23 besides ordering stay in the proceedings against this MLA by the DAC. In other words, the sources said, high command has taken strong and serious notice of MLAs taking affront against the party leadership in many ways. Sources also said even though these MLAs have been doing so only to defend themselves in the backdrop of accusations of cross voting,, but some of the utterances and the defiant attitude in terms of approaching Speaker, daring to declare their group as real BJP besides some other acts have been registered as out and out anti party activities by the high command. The high command is not going to ignore such things in any way, said the sources adding that had the MLAs conducted themselves in a better manner, things could have been certainly different in store for them. |
