Cong leader demands hydroelectric projects for Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report KISTWAR, May 8: Youth Congress Leader Sheikh Nasir Hussain has urged government to start work on the new hydro power projects in Kishtwar. In a statement issued here today, youth congress leader has said that Kishtwar district has huge potential of power generation but only one project has been constructed which is generating 390 mw electricity. He has said that survey of several projects has been completed and even few of them have been put to tenders but no steps are being taken for early start of their construction work. Sheikh Nasir has said new power projects will not only help the state to come out of the financial crunch but will also mitigate the problem of unemployment of the region. He has urged upon the Union Power minister Susheel Kumar Shinde and Chief minister Omar Abdullah to take immediate steps for start of Ratle, Keru, Karthie, Budser and Pakaldul projects. He also demanded that thousands of youth of Kishtwar after completion of Dul hasti power projects must be given preference in recruitment.
