POONCH, May 08: Amjad Cricket Club (ACC) registered a big 73 runs win over Ajote Cricket Club in Poonch District Level Cricket Tournament, organised by JKCA’s Poonch District Tournament Committee at Government Degree College ground, here today
Earlier, after winning the toss and decided to bat first, Amjad Club set a target of 200 runs for Ajote Club in stipulated 30 overs by losing nine wickets. Nawaz Rather was the top scorer with 33 runs scored in 27 balls with four fours while Naseer Ahmed contributed 18 runs in 13 balls with 3 boundaries. Mohd Rashid took three wickets for Ajote while Roshan Sharma scalped two.
Ajote Club, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals and the whole side bundled-out for 126 runs in 23.2 overs, thus lost the match by 73 runs. Amit Khajuria (33) and Ranteg Singh (23) tried their level best to consolidate the innings, but failed in their essay to snatch a victory. Amit struck 8 fours in his brief knock.
For Amjad Cricket Club, Imran Mir was the pick of the bowlers, who captured three important wickets in his four overs by giving away 18 runs. He was declared man of the match for his brilliant bowling performance. Rajinder Singh and Pritpal Singh officiated the match as umpires.
