| Undertrial consumes poison, serious | | | Jammu : An undertrial today tried to end his life by swallowing poison inside the "high-security" district jail, Ambphalla, here. Baffled police were trying to find out how the poison reached him inside the jail despite high security and round-the-clock vigil. Police sources said Pankaj Singh alias Pinku, son of Gopal Singh of Kotli Mian Fateh, R S Pura, who was lodged in the district jail in a murder case, consumed poison in an attempt to end his life. He was undergoing treatment at the GMC hospital here.
Police had registered a case in this connection. |
