| Wasim Iqbal lifts Jr Snooker title | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, May 09: Wasim Iqbal today emerged as new junior snooker champion of the 21st Srinagar District Open Billiards and Snooker Championship after he defeated Khursheed in the final played here.
Wasim made a winning start but lost the following frame to find the score on board 1-1. However, he made some nice potting to clinch two consecutive frames and game also. The score: 66-34, 24-60, 56-31, 54-23.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Wasim outplayed Zeeshan in straight easy frames. The score: 40-20, 50-10, 60-30.
In other semi-final, Khursheed trounced Zahoor Ahmed 3-2 in one of the closely contested matches of the tournament. Losing two opening frames, Khursheed fought from behind to make it a 3-2 superb win. The score: 30-50, 20-40, 60-20, 43-22, 50-40.
