JAMMU: Six people including, two brothers, were Sunday held by police for providing activated SIM cards to militant recruits in Surankote area of Poonch. Based on a tip-off, a police party last evening conducted surprise raids at various places in Surankote and nabbed six persons, including two brothers, for arranging and providing activated SIM cards to the recruits of various militant outfits," according to police sources. The accused were identified as Waqar Ahmed, Pawan Majid, sons of Abdul Majid of Surankote, Khalid Qureshi, son of Mehmood Ahmed of Faizlabad, Tahir Khan, son of Ghulam Ahmed of Gunthal, Rashid Ahmed, son of Mohammad Hussain, and Imran Ahmed. "The detainees are being questioned and more arrests on their disclosure cannot be ruled out," the sources added. |
