5/10/2011 12:22:53 AM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 9: Two days after Omar said Syed Ali Geelani had failed to feel the pulse of the people of Kahsmir, the Chief Minister today tried to do the damage control saying his remarks should not be taken out of context.
The Chief Minister had tweeted that Geelani call for funeral prayers in absentia for Osama was ignored by the people. He had also stated that Geelani had no feel of the pulse of Kashmiris whom he claims to represent.
"Because of something I said, Geelani Sahib, who is a senior leader, should not inconvenience the people by calling a strike. I earnestly appeal to him that we can take up our differences in a public forum and not through inconveniencing the people."
"The two of us can agree to disagree", he said.
He said the people of Kashmir wanted the peaceful atmosphere to continue so that developmental works pick up pace.
