With ‘Sankalp’ of homeland, Kashmir Yatra conclues | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MAY 9:- The 21-day long ‘Kashmir Sankalp Yatra’ after covering almost three states reached here today. The Yatra led by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir was flagged on April 14 from Jagti Township and covered 18 places in the 12 districts of the three states namely, Maharashtra, Delhi and Rajasthan. Addressing the press conference here this morning, Ashwani Kumar said that the main purpose of the Yatra was to make awareness among the people about the issues relating to Kashmir and the displaced Pandits. The special programmes on the occasion were planned in all the three states in collaboration with the local chapters of the like-minded and nationalist organisations namely, Samast Hindu Aaghadi, Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, Hindu Janjagran Samiti World Brahmin Organisation, he added. The Panun leader described Kashmir as a national mission for the organisation and said, “the displacement of the indigenous community of Kashmir, the Pandits, has ramifications on national and international level.” All attempts aimed at making Kashmir hostage to the politics of blackmail in the name of the so-called self-determination, self rule or 'azadi’ cut at the very roots of Indian nationalism. He said that the demand of autonomy is based on the politics of Muslim majority and it opens up all options of making Kashmir a theocratic state. The Kashmiri Pandits community stand committed to their demand of the establishment of Homeland in the valley of Kashmir as it remains the only viable option for the displaced community of Kashmir to resettle in their ancestral habitat.
