Anil Gupta who is son of veteran leader and one of the suspended MLAs Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, had also been served show cause notice by the state president Shamsher Singh Manhas for his alleged involvement in the cross voting scam. The move is being seen in the political quarters a step to pre empt any counter move by the high command which may cause embarassing situation to him. According to party sources it is almost decided that party will expell the MLAs as also Anil Gupta for his alleged involvement in the cash for vote controversy during LC polls. Interestingly, Anil Gupta has singled out and targetted state president Shamsher Singh Manhas in his the main cause of his resignation is the dictatorial behaviour, use of harsh and unfriendly language used by the latter . He has also hit out at the state presidnet for what he has alleged lack of Policy, biased and prejudicial approach could not bring cohesiveness and unity amongst the party leaders and also failed to maintain unity and discipline in the party." It is a conspiracy to outs me from the party which was going on for the last over one year.........the allegations made in the notice are not only baseless but defamatory......everything is orechestrated which is why I deemed it proper to resign from the party", Anil Gupta said while speaking to ET stating there was no point contesting or justifying the allegations. Substantiating his point, he further stated that his suggestions and advise to the state president for team work and friendly behaviour was taken by him as a challenge to his personality on account of which he developed prejudiced against him. Anil Gupta who is vice president in the state unit, has allged that the present prevailing crisis and alleged cross voting wherein more than half of the MLA's have revolted because of biased approach and unsupported allegations of cross voting and all it has happened during the leadership as party President. "Since you did not maintain discipline and keep the members of your party united, it had to ahppen", he said adding that this became the reason for the growing demand for change of guard since you have failed to maintain discipline in the party. "A divided BJP State unit of J&K is neither in the interest of our State nor in the interest of our party and the crisis has erupted because of you in league with few others........ So, therefore there are compelling reasons for you to resign from the primary membership of the party in the larger interest of BJP in the State of J&K", Gupta said. Anil Gupta has alleged that Singh had used concocting methods to oust him from the party and hatched conspiracy to this effect", Using strongly worded allegations, Anil Gupta has further alleged that Shamsher SIngh adopted the policy of divide and rule in the party and which created split in the party. Referring to notice, he said "it is baseless false, concocted to defame me and harming my reputation having ill intention. .......... You have issued the show cause Notice without naming the party members who are alleged to have levelled allegation against me of persuading the MLA's for cross voting. You have not shown in the show cause Notice the media reports wherein I have been named as the only one who persuaded MLA's for alleged cross voting" You have baselessly out of malice and just to harm my goodwill and reputation inducted my name and linked me with media and levelled defamatory allegations. You have levelled allegations which are perse defamatory which has lowered me in the estimation of my party workers and public in general". These are the reasons, which he stated has forced him resing as vice presidnet adding that he shall stay away from the party till Singh holds the post of president. |
