PSU employees meet to discuss strategies for release of arrears
5/10/2011 12:30:57 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 9: An emergent meeting of APSEJAC was held under the chairmanship of Suresh Sharma to discuss the follow up action of the Govt. regarding the release of arrears to the PSU employees who have been denied their rights.
Sharma told the participants, PSU leaders that a balance of convenience on the demands of PSU employees existed after having an understanding with the Govt. by the GEJAC after protracted struggle.
It was under this instrument of understanding that cabinet ordered conversion of COLA into DA but it is sorry state of affair that the Govt. maintained criminal silence over the release of 6th pay commission arrears to this lot of the employees.
Lot of water has flown under the river Tawi since then, the Govt. has not come out with any concrete plan for release of 6th pay commission arrears, budgetary support to the PSUs who needed it, and implementation of 6th pay commission report on the remaining PSUs.
It is very unfortunate and rather bankruptcy on the part of the govt. in dispensing justice to PSU employees when DA @ 16% has not similarly and simultaneously been released to this small number of the employees of the Govt in spite of the clear commitment of the Finance Minister Ab.Rahim Rather that PSU employees will not be ignored at the time of release of DA instead of COLA in future.
He made a fervent appeal to the Finance Minister to kindly look into this issue sympathetically and release of DA to PSU employees at the earliest as the PSEJAC has full faith in the leadership of Chief Minster and his ministry.
He also urged upon the senior functionaries of GEJAC Jammu to take up this demand on priority with the Govt. and get the orders issued.
He also appealed the employees to remain united and do not fall prey to mischievous elements and abide by the GEJAC which is in the struggle for the employees. Anchal Bakshi, Surjit Singh, A.K.Tandon,.C.K.Sudan, Madam Ishu, Sandip Sharma , Ashok Sandal, and others were present in the meeting.
