| There is no dearth of talent in sports: SP Kargil | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KARGIL, May 9: The under 14 and 17 boys/girls Badminton and Table Tennis tournament concluded at Indoor Stadium Kargil. The tournament was organized by the Zonal Physical Education Officer Kargil and about 150 students from 42 teams of various schools of Kargil participated in the tournamnet.
On the concluding day of the tournament S P Kargil, Javed Iqbal Matoo was the Chief Guest and District Sports Officer Kargil, Mohd Ali was the Guest of Honour.
Today the finals of Under 17 Boys Double Badminton was played and Pioneer Public School Kargil won the tornament by beating Muthahary Public School Kargil, and in under 17 Girls Badminton final was won by Suru Valley Public School Kargil by beating Pioneer Public School Kargil.
During the tournament the students of Suru Valley Public School Kargil and Middle School Latoo excelled in both boys and girls category.
According to the Physical teacher of the school Mohd Hassan, the result is due to the dedication of the parents towards games and the infrastructural help by Indian Army under Operation Sadhbhavna.
Talking on this occasion the Chief Guest Javed Iqbal Matoo, stressed on the need of awareness for games in school as he said that there is lot of potential in the field of sports in present era, and schools as well as parents has to focus on games as well.
On this occasion he announced Badminton and Table Tennis Kit to the winner and runner up teams and said that the players will excel at national and international level.
