Governor, first Lady visit DPS, Srinagar | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 10: Describing youth as the leaders of tomorrow, the Governor N. N. Vohra today said that the future of the State is very bright in the hands of the highly talented youth of J&K. The Governor was addressing the students of the Delhi Public School, Srinagar, during his visit to this institution today. He observed that given their high potential the youth of J&K could become leaders in whatever careers they choose to pursue and bring laurels to the State by dint of their hard work. First Lady Usha Vohra, was present on the occasion. Noting the excellent achievements registered by this School in academic and extra-curricular activities, the Governor told the students that they are fortunate to receive education in such an institution. He made a special mention of Obair Khan, a 12th class student of this School, who made an outstanding extempore speech in the inter-class Debating Contest organized in the English Lab of the institution today. He lauded this student’s impressive articulation on the theme of corruption and gave him an on the spot a cash prize of Rs. 1000. Governor presented a memento to the Principal of the School K. K. Sharma, as a memorabilia of the visit to this institution by him and the Lady Governor. Principal Secretary to the Governor R. K. Goyal was present on the occasion. On arrival at the school, the Governor and the First Lady were received by the Chairman, Delhi Public School, Srinagar Vijay Dhar Dhar, Principal, teachers, staff and the students.
