| Barnoti block go to polls on May 12 | | Panchayat elections | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, May 10: Barnoti block of district Kathua would go to polls on May 12 to be held under eighth phase of the ongoing Panchayat Elections.
Block has 45 Panchayats with 294 panch constituencies. As many as 294 polling stations have been established in the block for the conduct of polling out of which 70 are normal and 224 are sensitive. For the smooth conduct of panchayat elections in the block 16 ROs and 29 AROs have been appointed.
Barnoti block have a total of 66604 voters out of them 34866 are male while 31738 are female voters. 188 candidates are in the fray for the sarpanch elections out of them 177 are male and 11 are female candidates. For panch elections, 562 candidates are in the fray out of them 365 are male and 197 are female candidates.
