| Monitoring committee for ICDS in Kupwara | | | Early Times Report
KUPWARA, May 10: An amount of Rs 750.39 lakhs was earmarked for procurement of nutrition and freight, fuel and other works for 2271` AWC in 11 ICDS projects. Out of which Rs 554.61 lakh were allotted under district plan and Rs 195.78 lakh all under state sector.
This was stated in a review meeting of ICDS sector in Kupwara under the chairmanship of Director Social Welfare Department, Kashmir, and Hilal Ahmad Parray with Officers of Social Welfare Department, DRDA, Health, BDOs, Rural Development and CAPD. CMO, BMOs, BDOs, DRDA, Programme Officer, ICDs, and District Social Welfare Officer, Kupwara were present in the meeting.
Meeting was told that an amount of Rs 692.465 lakhs were utilized during last fiscal for the procurement of nutrition items and other purchasing. 70% of total population in district is covered under ICDs schemes in 11 projects. It was also stated that 2151 out of 2271 AWCs have functioning while 1201 AWC’s are yet to be made functional.
