Up-gradation of middle school Garmalo demanded | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 10: People belonging to Gujjar community in Garmalu village of Thathri tehsil in Doda district have time and again demanded upgradation of middle school Garmalo. The community members said that all the formalities and the related papers have already been completed for the process but school has not been upgraded even after that. A prominent person of that area, Beerru Gujjar said, “ We have been demanding upgradation for this school for the last five years but nothing has been done so far . There are hundreds of students studying in this middle school but after passing their middle class examination they are not able to go outside their villages for further studies due to poverty and low paying capacity and so they have to leave their studies”. “Even there are students from other adjoining villages where the huge number of students have passed their 8th class exam but could not afford to go other places for further studies”, he added. The villagers alleged that they met higher authorities even on top level, but they have totally ignored Gujjar community for this facility. They asked that when the government has upgraded other middle schools in far flung areas of the district, why the schedule tribe Gujjars have been ignored. Now they have once again demanded immediate upgradation of Garmalu school without any further delay.
