| DPS SMVDU- Katra celebrates annual function | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 10: Delhi Public School SMVDU- Katra celebrated its annual function with great pomp and show where Prof. R. N. K. Bamezai, Vice - Chancellor Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra was the Chief Guest and Rubinder Kour, Medical Officer, Police Hospital, Jammu was the guest of honour.
The Programme was witnessed by the parents of the students of the school, prominent citizens and other VIP's including C. L. Malhotra, Suminder Singh and Meenu Gupta.
The programme began with Saraswati Vandana which was followed by number of programmes performed by the students of various classes with great enthusiasm. The performance of the students in most of the programmes was amazing and was appreciated by the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Bamezai appreciated the school management particularly Maharaj Kumar Ajat Shatru Singh, Kunwarani Ritu Singhand S.S. Sodhi for their major contribution in establishment of Delhi Public School Kakriyal Katra for the benefit of the people of far flung and remote area and the staff for raising the standard of the students not only in academics but also in sports/games and co-curricular activities.
He also congratulated the staff for organizing a wonderful programme which was not less than the leading schools in India.
S. S. Sodhi director, DPS, Katra thanked the Vice - Chancellor, distinguished guests, parents, media, local management and all other connected with the programme.
He also assured the gathering that this school will become among the leading school of India in the near future with support and co-operation of Mata Vaishno Devi University and above all with kind blessings of Mata Vaislmo Devi Ji.
Earlier, Vandana Sharma, headmistress presented the welcome address and Raj Kumar Verma, principal DPS, SMVDU- Katra delivered the annual report of the school.
He also highlighted the achievements of the school in academics, co-curricular activities and sports particularly at national level.
The annual function concluded with the enchanting of National Anthem by the gathering
