NPP leaders defy ban, visit Bhatta-Parsol
5/11/2011 11:11:19 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 11: A strong team of NPP leaders led by its chairman Bhim Singh today made daring entry into the police torn villages of Bhatta and Parsol in Gautam Budhnagar in U.P, about 100 kms. from the national capital by defying the prohibitory orders of Mayawati government.
Bhim Singh was accompanied by senior leaders of Panthers Party of Delhi and U.P. including Delhi State president, B.S. Sajan, its general secretary, Rajiv Khosla, western U.P. pradesh president of NPP, Chander Mohan, Sunita Choudhary, general secretary and several others.
Bhim Singh and his team also visited the bereaved families of Late Rajpal Singh (42) and Rajbir Singh (45) to express sympathy and condolences with the families.
Several women and younger people complained telling the Panthers Party chief about the barbaric acts of UP police destroying their household furniture, televisions, beds and even the toys of the children. Several women in tears requested Bhim Singh and his companion to save their male members from the death trap of Mayawati Government.
NPP chief and about 150 Panthers Party activists both men and women visited both the villages where police killed three farmers on 7 th May, 2011 and two policemen were also killed by some unknown persons.
Interestingly Rahul Gandhi, MP (general secretary-AICC) also made a dramatic entry into the same village in the early hours of the day but could not visit any bereaved family in Bhatta or Parsol, though he had scores of security men from the state and the centre.
Many villagers complained that Rahul Gandhi had come to save Mayawati from the wrath of the public. Bhim Singh and his team visited several families to witness broken houses, furniture and men and women in wounds hiding inside their houses.
Many women demonstrated blood-stained clothes of their family member who were assaulted by the police on 7th May, 2011.
About 80% houses in both the villages were locked whereas only elderly women and children were seen on the roads with cries seeking help and justice. Several women made surprising disclosures that the police burnt many uplas (jhuggies) and threw several farmers into that fire.
The Rahul Gandhi’s drama could not make any dent because everyone in the village was convinced that it was done with the help and support of Mayawati.
Bhim Singh assured the villagers to take up their cases in the Apex Court of the country to bring the killers of humanity to justice.
