Building permission cases cleared by JMC

Jammu, May 11: In a meeting of Building Operation Controlling Authority held today, the building permission cases were examined and 56 building permission cases were cleared.
The chairmanship S.C Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu presided.
The other members of Building Operation Controlling Authority besides Joint Commissioner (Adm) and Senior Town Planner of Jammu Municipal Corporation attended the meeting. The building permissions cases cleared today shall generate revenue of Rs. 8.00 Lacs for Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Besides this, the Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith team of Food Inspectors continued the drive to check the quality of food items and inspected about 250 food establishments like milk & milk product shops / dhabas / restaurants, fruit juice shops, tea stalls, sweet shops, bakery shops, cut fruits / sugar canes juice rehries, lassi counters, meat & chicken shops etc. in the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, railway road, Bikram Chowk, Jewel Area, Talab Tillo, etc.
During the inspection 46 defaulters were booked under the provisions of Prevention of Food Adulteration Act 1954 and J&K Municipal Corporation Act, 2000.
An amount of Rs. 20750 was charged as fine from the defaulters and about 200 kgs of sub – standard milk & curd, 70 Kgs of sweets & cooked food and 20 Kgs of cut fruits which were not fit for human consumption were destroyed on spot.
The team also seized polythene carry bags from various food establishments in these areas and were instructed not to use polythene carry bags.
All the food establishments owners are strictly warned to adhere to the terms and conditions of PFA licenses and keep their premises neat and clean for ensuring supply of pure & good quality of food items to the customers and also to keep garbage of their premises in dustbin and not to throw it on roads / footpaths and keep the same at the nearby garbage collection point / dustbin of Jammu Municipal Corporation kept for the collection of the same.
