| 2 held for slitting girl's throat | | | Srinagar: Two persons were arrested today for allegedly slitting the throat of a girl after she resisted their molestation attempt in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district, police said.
According to police, the duo Farooq Ahmad Parra and Abdul Qayoom Parra slit the girl's throat with a knife after she resisted their attempt to molest her at village Gudsuthu, 25 km from here, they said. The girl was on way to her paddy fields when the incident took place. The alarm raised by the victim attracted the attention of the people who rushed to the spot and shifted her to hospital in a critical condition, police said, adding that the assailants fled the scene and were later arrested. The weapon of the offence has been seized, police said. |
