Prof Gharu Ram alleges RP Singh 'threatened' him | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 11: Prof Gharu Ram, one of the 7 suspended BJP MLAs has alleged that he has been threatened by Seh Prabhari, RP Singh that he would face the 'wrath' of the BJP workers if he did not respond to his call for coming to New Delhi and 'present' before the high command while maintaining distance from the other MLAs. Fearing for his life and security of family, Gharu Ram has sought intervention of the Police and written a letter to SSP Jammu seeking necessary action in the matter. In the letter addressed to SSP, Gharu Ram has alleged that RP Singh threatened him demonstrations, scenes of self immolations and other such acts would be organized in front of his house as also the house of Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, contending that Singh forced him to come to Delhi on May 10 as this would protect him from disciplinary action. In the letter the BJP MLA from RS Pura has given reference of the phone calls and his conversation with RP Singh on May 7 during which the latter allegedly pressurized him to appear before the party High Command at New Delhi. The MLA has written that Singh tried to persuade him by saying this save him from the disciplinary action if he kept distance with the other members in the suspended MLAs camp.However, he did not agree to Singh's instruction upon which he gave threatening using harsh language. Giving details of the phone numbers used , Prof Gharu Ram has further said when he responded in negative to Singh's persuation asking him to reach New Delhi on May 10 to prove his innocence, RP Singh got offended as he (Prof Gharu Ram) insisted he would so if he called all members jointly. Gharu Ram, seeking police intervention has said he feels insecure for himslef being a public representative , as also for his family's security. |
