Jammu | Nov 19 THE J&K Utsav, a cultural extravaganza being presented by Natrang, is the star attraction of 26th Indian International Trade Fair (IITF) at New Delhi. The cultural bonanza has been designed and directed by Balwant Thakur. According to Thakur, it was for the first time that all regions of J&K have been represented in one packaged programme, which features variety of dances ranging from rich traditions of Ladakhi, Kashmiri, Pahari, Gojri, Dogri and Bhaderwahi dances. Being the biggest ever cultural presentation focusing J&K at IITF, Natrang has been assigned to put up 35 shows by the Armed Forces at Amphitheatre (Defence Pavilion), Srinagar and Hansdhwani theatres, a press release informed. The programme starts with the narrative singing of the hills of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine which Muslim singers traditionally sing. Here legendary figure of Dogri music Ghulam Mohammed amazes everyone with his singing. The other items that steal the show include perfect blend of dances and cultural presentations from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. Some of the dances from J&K being presented at the show include World famous dances; Rouf, Hafiz Nagma, Jagrana, Surma, Jabro dance, Geetru, Morni, Chatni, Koyal, Gojri, Kud, Bhumbro dance. Fifty artists of Natrang are participating in this historical cultural extravaganza Prominent national and international dignitaries have witness the scintillating programme which include; A.K. Antony, Defence Minister, Gulam Nabi Azad, Chief Minister of J&K, his wife Shamima Azad, Chief of Armed Forces representatives of international dignitaries, who had especially come to witness the international festival.
