B N Hospital celebrates International Nurses’ Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MAY 12 - Minister for Medical Education, Mr Rs Chib, on Thursday said that creating congenial working conditions for the para-medical staff, including the Nurses, was the priority of the Health and Medical Education Ministries.
The Minister was speaking at a function organized by B N Hospital to mark the International Nurses’ Day here at the hospital premises.
Describing the paramedical staff as the back bone of the Medicare services, he said that the profession of Nurse is word over acknowledged as one of the noblest occupation. He said Mother Teresa who was believed to have healing powers has become a symbolic personality of the noble profession of Nurse.
“Everyone is aware of the work and spiritual personality of Mother Teresa who spent her whole life for serving the ailing humanity. It is by the dent of her dedication and the love for humanity that she achieved the status of sainthood”, Mr. Chib said, while recalling the contribution of the noble lady.
Listing the measures taken by the government to improve the Medicare delivery system in the state, he said first priority has been accorded to create better working conditions for those who are busy in serving the ailing people. He said special attention is being paid to maintain order in the health institutions, particularly the premier hospitals where the staff has to work under immense pressure.
Chib said that while the government was keen to provide every facility to the medical and para- medical staff, it also want them to reciprocate by coming up to the expectation of the people. He also sought public cooperation in maintaining order and decorum in the hospitals by avoiding confrontation with the staff on duty.
The Medical Education Minister said that far reaching steps have been taken by the government to ensure best possible Medicare facilities in the hospitals as it has been tagged as one of the priority sector. He said that the working of all major hospitals is being monitored by a Task Force headed by the chief minister, Omar Abduallh himself. He also mentioned about the super specialty hospitals coming up one each in Jammu and Srinagar and said that the people of the state have not to go out of the state and they can have best specialist services at the twin capitals of their own state.
Earlier, a colourful cultural programme was also present on the occasion which was highly appreciated by the audience.
