| Three sarpanchs elected unopposed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 12: Three sarpanches from Haveli constituency which is represented by Ajaz Ahmed Jan an NC legislator in the legislative assembly have been elected unopposed as the sarpanches of their respective panchayats.
Those elected unopposed are Ghani from Pyt Saral,Mashooq Ahmed from Chaktroo in block Poonch and Khalil Lone from Pyt Gagrian in block Mandi.
It is worthwhile to mention here that all the panches of Gagrian and Saral were also elected unopposed from their panch constituencies after a co census was evolved in the voters at their own level.
The winnings candidates assembled at the residence of MLA Poonch and the legislator congratulated them on their grand success after getting the mandate of the public.
The MLA garlanded all the winning candidates and wished them all the best in their next assignments.
He further said that the strengthening of democracy at grass root level is a dream of Omar Abdullah Chief Minister J&K and it will be the most fair n free polls state has ever witnessed, The interaction lasted for two hours and the winning candidates conveyed their thanks to the legislator for giving them an able leadership at the top level.
