PCO owner, brother hurt as patwari opens fire at Samba | | | ET Report JAMMU, May 12: A revenue patwari today allegedly fired at a PCO owner and his brother at Chak Mange Rakwal in Samba, wounding them seriously. Police sources said patwari Jasbir Singh of Vijaypur and his two accomplices today went to Chak Mange Rakwal and fired at PCO owner Ravi Kumar (18), son of Krishan Chand, from his licenced weapon in his left leg. As he collapsed, they stabbed him in the already injured leg, the sources added. Sources said when Ravi's brother Rajinder tried to protect him, the patwari allegedly fired upon him too and injured him critically. However, when the patwari and his two accomplices were fleeing in their car, some locals chased and stoned them as a result of which the car suffered damages. The injured were admitted to Samba hospital and later referred to the GMC hospital, Jammu, where their condition was stated to be serious. The accused had gone underground and raids were being conducted to nab them. Sources said Jasbir had lodged a written complaint with Vijaypur police station about a month back against Ravi, alleging therein that the latter had been making anonymous calls at his residence, showering abuses on his family members and threatening them of dire consequences. A case in this connection was registered against Ravi at Vijaypur police station under section 107 of RPC, the sources added. |
