Newly elected sarpanhes, panches attend NCP meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar 13 May: In the recent elections of Panchayats in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the valley people have overwhelmingly voted to elect their panches and sarpanches. In a meeting at Dooru , Shahbad district Anantnag a meeting of newly elected panches was presided over by senior vice president NCP J&K state J A Khan wherein many newly elected Panches joined NCP after their elections , the prominent elected panches participated in the meeting. Khan while addressing the newly elected members of panchayats said that state NCP under the secular and dynamic leadership of former minister Thakur Randhir Singh has taken a pledge to fight against the corrupt system and took pledge as newly set up J&K Environment and Ecology committee to protect environment ,forests , rivers , roads ,cities , waterbodies , natural springs , forts , archaeological sites , mountaineering tracts and work for the unemployed people in their areas and monitor the development works in the state and expose corrupt politicians who are misusing the development funds . The newly elected members took a pledge to protect the environment and save the mother earth right from the Verinag spring which is the source of mighty river Jhelum which is being polluted. Thakur Randhir Singh in a telephonic message welcomed the newly elected Panchayat members who joined NCP in a meeting presided over senior vice president of the NCP at Dooru Shahbad and assured them he will personally visit and will greet them and will take developmental issues with their cooperation with the concerned authorities.
