Multi-crore scheme launched for upgrading gadgets in medical institute | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 13: The Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar has decided to carry out major up-gradation of various apparatus, equipments and install highly sophisticated gadgets in its 18 departments. Institute sources said that the up-gradation program was to cost several crores of rupees and attempt was being made to get these sophisticated equipments and gadgets installed by the end of the current financial year. As per the sources in the Department of gastroenterology latest gadgets including Endo ultrasound, pediatric video endoscopy system, black and white ultrasound machines will be installed. In the Community medicine department the Institute authorities have decided to install operating microscope three part differential hematology analyzer and in the neurosurgery department ultrasonic surgical aspiration and operative neuro-endoscope will to be installed. As far as the nephrology department is concerned a number of sophisticated gadgets including dialysis chairs, automatic dialysis, and dialysis machines will be installed. Sources said that since cases of cardiac, renal and cancer problems are on rise in Kashmir the Institute is being equipped with latest machines so that patients’ could be provided with best services. In the department of oncology latest design of the colour Doppler ultrasound machine will be installed. As per the sources, these gadgets will not only to improve diagnostic and treatment but will also help the doctors to carry out research.(KIP
