| Student injured in accidental firing | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
BARAMULLA, May 13: A student was injured in an accidental firing in district Kupwara, triggering protest from locals.
Official sources said a 12th class student Ishfaq Ahmad Ganie was injured when a weapon of security personnel went off accidentally at Hayatpora in Kupwara.
The injured was rushed to hospital, they said.
People of the area took to the streets, alleging that Ganie was deliberately fired upon by the security forces without any provocation.However, normalcy was restored in the area after senior civil and police officials visited the area.
