| PDP expresses satisfaction for gaining support to its ‘Self-Rule’ concept | | | JAMMU NOV-19 Expressing satisfaction over the overwhelming support on the ‘Self-Rule’ concept presented by the party as a solution to Kashmir imbroglio, at all level and among the interested parties, the Peoples Democratic Party quoting newspaper reports and other inputs from New York and Cario said that both Mufti Mohammed Sayed and Party President Mehbooba Mufti have successfully gained the support for the self-rule option. Addressing a day long workshop organized at the party headquarters here today, the PDP leaders said that the party’s mission abroad have been well received by American think tank and Kashmiri Diaspora in US, besides the delegates at PAGWASH from all over the world who assembled in Cario recently, to find out consensual solution to Kashmir issue. The workshop presided over by the PDP legislator Party leader in Assembly Abdul Aziz Zargar was attended among others by senior party leaders including G H Mir, Tarlok Singh Bajwa, MP, Tariq Hamid Karra, Manjit Singh Pir Mohammed Hussain, Peerzada Manzoor Hussain, Rangil Singh Dhaman Bhasin. Romesh Mottan, Nizamuddin Bhat, Basharat Ahmed Bukhari and Shanti Devi. Mir, Bajwa,Karra,Manjit Singh, Hussain and Khalil who were the star attraction at the workshop claimed that PDP’s self rule has made a firm ground in Jammu region despite reservation by the Congress, BJP and other regional parties. Mir maintained that self- rule does not cover political component only but envisages solution through joint economic development and composite culture, a party hand out claimed. Covering wide-ranging issues posing challenge to the people and the party, Zargar and Karra underlined the need to identify the ‘ vested interests’ in the state that have been exploiting various solutions including conflict for their personal agendas and were thriving on the miseries of the people’. While Zagar emphasized for carrying forward the peace process, Karra said ‘PDP has assumed lead role’ to bring J&K State out of the present morass. Mufti Sayed’s message from Washington was read out by Nizam ud Din Bhat MLC in which among other things he (Mufti) has said ‘that party workers commitment for cause of peace was source of strength to him, while sitting away on mission of peace adding that the international community have received well the PDP’s political and economic agenda which we believe will open a consensual path for resolution of long pending Kashmir issue, not only for India and Pakistan but for the people of both the parts of the divided State undergoing agony, conflict and disharmony. On the instructions of PDP President the party has been reconstituted in Jammu and Bajwa has been made incharge of party activities for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency. Romesh Mottan has been made incharge Doda- Udhampur- Kathua Parliamentary constituency while Dhaman Bhasin has been assigned the job to look after the party affairs for office and frontal organizations.
