JK marching fast towards peace, prosperity: Bhalla

Jammu, May 14: Reiterating Government’s determination for providing better basic amenities to the people of the state, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said the Government has taken several innovative measures for improving the living standard of the people especially those residing in peripheral areas of the state.
This was stated by the Minister today while interacting with the people during his inspection to various works, being executed in Sector-7 Ward No. 44 at Nanak Nagar area.
The Minister said fulfilling of people’s aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
Responding to the people’s demands, Bhalla announced Rs. 4 lakh for fixation of paver tiles in 2800 sft area of Gali No. 10. He asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation authorities to complete the project by the end of this month by using quality material.
He said any laxity on the part of quality could not be tolerated adding that Government is committed to provide concrete assets to the people across the State.
The Minister stressed upon the concerned engineers and officers to redouble their efforts and accelerate pace of all ongoing works in the area for completion before starting of rainy season. He said Government has taken some bold and historical steps to rejuvenate overall developmental profile of the State.
He said sectors like PHE, health, R&B, education, tourism, power among other sectors have received focus attention of the Government adding it was the only pro-people policy that the masses at present benefited by drinking water, regular power supply in metered areas, road connectivity, quality education and healthcare facilities at their doorsteps.
Bhalla said to connect rural areas with urban pockets, the execution of several ambitious road projects worth crore of rupees are in apace across the State.
He said keen attention is being also paid towards increasing power generation in the State, adding several macro, micro and mini power projects have been taken up for which besides state, the centre is providing liberal financial assistance to the State.
The Minister said peace is pre-requisite for making Jammu and Kashmir a model State of the country.
He said people’s cooperation is must for the Government to make the State a prosperous one. He called upon the people not to heed on nefarious designs whoever wants to use innocent for their personal interests and always disrupt peace, brotherhood, communal harmony and amity of the State.
He asked them to give their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for maintaining peace and prosperity in the State.
