Bhim condemns police lathicharge in his village, demands action, judicial inquiry | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 14: Bhim Singh, chairman, J&K National Panthers Party and member, national integration council who visited his home village, Bhugterian, the district of Udhampur as armed policemen had reportedly attacked the villagers and ransacked his ancestral house, beat his nephews, nieces including his brother’s-son-law. Bhim Singh expressed surprise on the silence of the Chief Minister on this barbaric police act only to punish the relatives and village men for supporting Panthers Party in the election. The police had also entered the house of Panthers Party nephews, broke the window panes and ransacked furnitures for no reason. Bhim Singh urged Governor N.N. Vohra to intervene in the episode and direct the Chief Minister to take stern action against the police SHO (Ramnagar) and the Tehsildar who were directly responsible for the inhuman and barbaric action. He also expressed surprise that SHO Ramnagar had filed FIR and arrested innocent farmers who were assaulted by him and his police. Bhim Singh said that if action is not taken against Tehsildar, SHO who were present at the time police lathicharge in Bhugterian, he shall take appropriate action against the culprits. He was talking to the farmers and the members of the panchayat on the occasion of first death anniversary of Shri Jagdev Singh, the youngest brother of NPP Chief.
