Girja Kaul’s Kalyug Ka Avtar hits stands

JAMMU, May 15; Girja Kaul’s third book kalyug Ka Avtar was released at a simple but impressive function at K L Sehgal Hall here this afternoon at a function jointly organized by Nagrai Literary Forum and Cultral Academy.
Pt Omkar Nath Shastri chairman Pt.Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan was the chief guest on the occasion. While the function as presided over by P N Sayil a well known writer and critic. Prof A N Sadhu former head of Department Economics Jammu University and president KP Sabha was the guest of honour.
A galaxy of writers, scholars and artists attended the function. Among others Mrs Bimla Raina a mystic poetess and president nagrai and Girja Kaul were also on the dais. The programme was compared by Dr Premi Romani a well known Urdu scholar.
In his address Shastri Ji highlighted the contribution of Kashmiri Pandits to the art and literature. He said the Kashmir has not only been abode of saints and sages but it has also produced the great scholars who have attained name and fame all over the world. In this regard he highlighted the contribution of great Shivacharya Abhinav Gupta, utpaldev and Kshemender.
He said the role ofKashmiri women in the spiritual and religious life was in no way less than their male counterpart and in this regard he referred to mystic poetess Lalayshowri, Mata Roop Bhawani, Arnimal, Mathura Devi etc.
Prof Sadhu also highlighted the contribution of Kashmiri scholars to the promotion of culture and in the literary filed. He said during the last 21 years of exile the Kashmiri scholars also made their immense contribution to the society and maximum number of books were published in this period by the Pandit writers. He said the women writers did not lag behind their male counterparts and they also created a niche for themselves in the literary field. In this regard he gave example of Bimla Raina, Santosh Nadan, chandera Dassi, Sunita, girja Kaul etc.
The welcome address was read by Sarita Bakshi additional secretary Cultural academy while bimla raina proposed the vote of thanks. Girja kaul’s two books guru Dkashana and Tulsi Tapasiya have been released earlier.
This book was dedicated to her by her maternal father in law Jia Lal Pandia a great Karamyogi who had left an indelible mark on Girja ‘s life.
