| Panchayati Raj would be strengthened: Prof Soz | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, May 15: Pradesh Congress Committee, President and former Union Minister, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz Sunday said that Panchayati Raj system would be strengthened so that the people enjoy benefits of development at their door steps.
Addressing Public meetings in Brinil-Mamdo and Guddhar villages of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district Prof Soz assured people that Congress would rededicate its cadres to strengthening the Panchayati Raj System, so that these institutions become vital instruments of service to the people.
Soz who was accompanied by Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib, sanctioned Rs 10 lakh for Guddhar area and Rs five lakh for Brinil Lamdo out of his MP LAD fund for developmental works to be identified by Deputy Commissioner in consultation with Sarpanchs of these two areas.
He said that all the block and Panchyat headquarters will have a play field and required sports material under this scheme during next four years.
