Omar relates service to needy with service to God | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 15:Relating service to physically challenged with service to God, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Sunday highlighted the need of reaching out this special category of people to rekindle their hope in normal life process. “The twenty years militancy period has shifted attention towards the violence affected people putting the affecters of other incidents and calamities out of focus”, he added and called for universal measures for the rehabilitation of all physically challenged and destitute. Speaking at the Free-Artificial Limbs Camp organized by BROWWA-BEACON in collaboration with All India Marwardi Yuva Much at Rengreth near here, the Chief Minister said that joint efforts by the Government, NGOs and other organizations are required to help rehabilitation of physically challenged persons. “Social welfare is a broader concept and the delivery on this front is a noble service to be rendered sincerely and with a missionary spirit”, he said and appreciated the efforts of Border Roads Organization Wives Welfare Association (BROWWA) and the NGO for realizing the need of needy and delivering on this count. “Your efforts are praise worthy”, Omar Abdullah told the duo organizations and stressed on holding more such camps in the Valley adding that physically challenged and destitute in the Valley require all the more attention for their rehabilitation and normal life activities.
