Slathia tours Vijaypur, inspects pace on developmental works | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 15:Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjit Singh Slathia today conducted extensive tour of his home constituency Vijaypur and inspected the pace of work on various under execution works, besides inaugurating newly constructed additional class rooms at Government Middle School Sanerki and Community Facility Centre at Bahrota camp. The centre was constructed at a coat of Rs 16 lakhs.
The areas visited by the Minister, included Sanerki, Koulpur, Mohalla Mistarian and other adjoining areas. He also addressed a series of public meetings and interacted with local deputations who projected the problems of their respective areas.
Addressing a gathering at Sanerki after inaugurating newly constructed block at the local Government Middle school, the Minister said that the Government was committed to provide educational facilities in the remotest corners of the state. Responding to the local demands, he made on spot announcement of installation of 100 KVA transformers, construction of culvert over the local Nallah and road link from Sanerki to railway station. He said that other demands would also be fulfilled in due course of time.
He also gave away Rs 25000 each to two beneficiaries under Indira Awas
Yojna.
He also directed for completion of pending works at local Peer Baba.
After discussing the measures for overcoming the water scarcity problem faced to the area with the authorities, the Minister directed DC Samba to explore the possibility for construction of deep bore well in the area so that the drinking water problem was solved once for all.
Earlier, the Minister inaugurated a newly constructed Community facility Centre at Barota camp constructed under BADP scheme at a cost of Rs 16 Lakh.
