| Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti felicitates Prof Vishwa Murti | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 15:Jammu Kashmir Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Jammu held a function at Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha here today to felicitate renowned Sanskrit scholar Prof Vishwa Murti Shastri.
Prof Vishwa Murti Shastri was honoured for his pioneering services to promote Sanskrit learning in Jammu and Kashmir.
Born in Ghordi in Ramnagar tehsil of Udampur district, Prof Shastri is presently Principal of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, a deemed University, Ranbir Campus Jammu (Under the Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of Higher Education New Delhi) in Jammu, which is only Sanskrit learning institute in the state.
Convenor, Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Jammu Dr Satya Pal Shrivatsa and Prof Ved Ghai presented the veteran Sanskrit scholar with a Shawl and citation.
The citation reads that this award has been conferred to Prof Shastri for his selfless, dedicated and tireless services to propagate Sanskrit.
Prof Bharat Bhushan Sharma along with other officer bearers of the Samiti were also present in the function.
