| CPI (M) opposes steep fuel hike | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 15: Jammu Regional Committee of CPI (M) has condemned the steep price hike of petroleum products.
In a meeting of the party held her today under the chairmanship of Regional Secretary Sham Prasad Kesar, the members said by indiscriminately increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG, the UPA Government at the centre has shown its real colour.
The members said as soon as the assembly elections in five states are over, the hike was announced which is quite baffling.
They said this is the ninth price hike of petrol in the span of last nine months which has further over burdened the pocket of the common man.
It is an utterly irresponsible action by a government totally insensitive to the miseries of common man owing to continuously rising inflation.
Sham Prasad Kesar demands to roll back the price hike in petrol and reduce the tax burden on crude and petroleum products to a rational level.
