| GMCC wins opening tie in Reasi-Katra Cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
REASI, May 15: Gram Mohd Cricket Club (GMCC) won the inaugural tie of the Reasi-Katra District Cricket Tournament, organised by District Cricket Committee under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), here today.
The GMCC registered a huge 162 runs win over New Gram Mohd Cricket Club (NGMCC) to enter the next round of the competition.
Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, GMCC made 267 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. Munna played superb innings of 52-ball 77 runs including ten boundaries while Mohinder contributed 26-ball 40 runs and Vishal added 25-ball 36. From NGMCC, Deepak and Dalip took three and two wickets respectively.
Later, NGMCC could not chase the total and the whole side bowled out for 105 runs in 19.5 overs. Dalip was top scorer with 20-ball 37 runs while Billu contributed 18 runs. Nishu and Daljeet were most successful bowlers from winners GMCC with three wickets each.
For his brilliant knock of 77, Munna was declared man of the match.
