| Gujjars Front condemn attack on Nazir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Gujjars United Front has strongly condemned the murderous attack on Nazir Ahmed (Gujjar) of Ramban, at present Shibu Chak Bishnah by three doctors and security staff Lead by Dr. Avinash Sudan at Govt. Medical College, Jammu.
In a press statement issued here today by Shah Mohd. Chowdhary, advocate, president of the Front and member, State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjar and Bakerwal termed the incident as most unfortunate and barbarous.
Chowdhary said that Dr. Avinash Sudan led by other doctors and security staff of Govt. Medical College, Jammu subjected him to severe thrashing which resulted in serious wounds in his liver and face and head.
Due to serious injuries, his liver got punctured resulting bleeding and he was operated upon by the doctors in the evening.
The condition of Nazir Ahmed is serious who is fighting for life. Chowdhary strongly lambasted the concerned police for not taking any action against the accused doctor and security staff.
The injured remained lying in pool of blood for four long hours and no body from police and hospital administration visited the injured.
Chowdhary further said that ultimately on the protest of Gujjars, the District Administration came into action and FIR was registered in the police station Bakshi Nagar late in the evening.
Chowdhary urged the Chief Minister to take stern action against Principal and Superintendent of Medical College Jammu and strict action against SHO Police Station Bakshi Nagar and incharge Police Post Medical College Jammu who failed to perform their duties.
Chowdhary demanded free specialized treatment for the injured. The other signatories to the statement are Haji Hashim Ali, Showket Javed, Haji Showket Parvez, Sajad Majid, C h. Alaudin, Ch. Maqsood Ahmed and others.
