| Army organises children day at Dalhori High School | | |
Rajouri Nov 20 The National Integration Campaign launched by Army in the border region of Rajouri and Poonch since 14th November 2006 concluded with a grand function organised by 16 Rajputana Rifles at Government High School Dalhori of district Rajouri here today. The today’s concluding fuction was presided over by Brig. Vivek Sohal commander 87 Mountain Brigade stationed at Kalakote. On this occasion, the Jawans of 16 Rajputana Rifle had decorated whole of the village with colour full buntings and banners reading the sayings of great freedom fighter leaders of India. Though the day was named as children day but the people from all walks of life and from far flung areas participated in the function. The colour full cultural programme presented on the occasion was contributed by nearly a dozen Schools of the adjoining areas. Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, Brig. Sohal stressed upon the people to make the children aware of the freedom struggle of India beside giving them formal education. Referring towards the Operation Sdhbhawana launched by Army, Brig. Sohal said, the aim and objective of launching the social welfare schemes by the army was only to provide the maximum relief to the people of those areas where the other civil developmental agencies can not reach due to many reasons. He said all of the operation Sadhbhawana projects were carried by the army in those areas where the civil authorities could not reach due to the security reasons. He also offered his full help to all the schools falling under his jurisdiction and asked the locals to come up with the proposals of developmental schemes. Later, in the end of the function, the chief guest distributed prizes among the students who participated in the cultural program and other items. The people on the occasion also spoke very high of the 16 Rajputana Rifle unit in the area saying that since the Unit took over the area, the Unit officers and Jawans have won the hearts of the civil population with the heart pursuit campaign launched by them in the area.
