Corruption rampant in Govt due to lack of transparency: PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT ARNIA, May 15: Lambasting coalition regime for adopting apathetic attitude towards problems being faced by the farming community, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) warned that party would come on streets for the redressal of the woes of the farming community. Addressing a public meeting at Arnia, former Rajya Sabha member and vice president of the party Trilok Singh Bajwa regretted since formation of this government problems of the people have been compounding because this government is more concerned about befooling the people rather than addressing their problems. He said that Omar Abdullah led regime has become a liability on the people of Jammu and Kashmir because this regime has failed on fronts. He especially mentioned that corruption has crossed all limits due to lack of transparency and accountability. He regretted that most of the government sponsored schemes failed to yield expected results in the rural areas due to mal-administration and corruption at grass root level. He pointed out that there was no transparency and accountability in the government departments and those at the helm of the affairs have been blatantly looting the public exchequer with the patronage of their political masters.
Bajwa exhorted the party workers to expose misdeeds of this regime before the masses. He said that every section of the society has been facing hardship due to the misdeeds of this regime headed by Omar Abdullah. Bajwa informed that meeting that PDP president Mehbooba Mufti is visiting Jammu to start a campaign against corruption. He said that Mehbooba Mufti would address public meetings at Jammu, R S Pura and Udhampur on May 20, 21 and 23 to educate the masses about mis-deeds of this worst ever corrupt regime. Chater Singh Saini, Ch Chuni Lal and others also addressed the gathering.
