| Shaheen conducts extensive tour of Banihal | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 15: National Conference leader Sajjad Shaheen conducted an extensive tour of Tatnihal, Amkote, Thachi,Chapnari areas of Banihal and addressed a series of meetings attended by party workers and prominent citizens at various places.
During the visit a number of deputations also met Shaheen and apprised him about their problems mostly related to non availability of basic facilities like drinking water, electricity, health care, improvement and up gradation of roads etc.
Shaheen assured the people that their demands will be taken up with the government for immediate redressel.
Shaheen while addressing the meetings said that the Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to relieve people of economic deprivation and ensure balanced development of all the areas.
He appealed to the people to participate in large number in Panchayat elections which are being held after a gap of fifteen years in the state to decentralize the powers at grass root level in the rural areas.
