| Cop lands in Vigilance net - Caught red handed while accepting bribe | | |

Today State Vigilance Organization caught one Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Shri Bharat Bhushan posted in Police Station Bus Stand Jammu while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5000/- from an accused of a criminal case under Investigation with him.
Brief facts of the case are that one Shri Kulwant Singh S/o Gian Singh R/o 684 Digiana Jammu lodged a written complaint alleging that he has been implicated in case FIR No. 56/06 P/S Bus Stand which is being investigated by ASI Bharat Bhusahn Koul. Apprehending his arrest, the complainant approached the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu and obtained bail order from the hon'ble court. On 14.11.2006 the copy of the court order was given to the investigating officer who demanded an illegal gratification of Rs.5000/- to enlarge him on bail otherwise he will report his non cooperation to the hon'ble court and get the bail cancelled.
Case FIR No. 25/2006 P/S VOJ was registered and investigation taken up by the state vigilance organization (SVO). A team of SVO officials accompanied the complainant, laid a successful trap during which ASI Bharat Bhusahn was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5000/- from the complainant. The tainted money was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses. He was taken into custody fro further investigation.
